Review of the book ‘The Test of My Life’ – Part 1

Today I am reviewing a book, which is not a mere book anymore but has touched down my heart – “The Test of My Life’. Well I am going to divide this review into 3 parts. The reason – I want all of Yuvraj’s fans to closely have an insight of this book which is not just a biography (which is being misconnected widely ever since its launch was announced). The book goes beyond this misconception of being a biography to a living story which a reader can see, feel & experience closely.

The book ‘The Test of My Life’ is based on the life story of none other than - the ‘Sixer King’ of Indian Cricket & my Favorite too – Yuvraj Singh. The book has been divided into 6 chapters that have covered each & everything of life of our hero, even things we fans would never have imagined, from his childhood to stardom cancer fight to returning back India after treatment & playing the first watch (again). If you really want to know those, just read the book even if you are not fond of them. Just Go & Read it for an exquisite yet unbelievable life experiences of Yuvraj Singh.

Well honestly I haven’t read book completely since when I was on page 30, I was almost crying and I cried for almost 15 minutes (even I can’t believe it up till now). So this review will be on the basis of just First Chapter of the book.

The first chapter beautifully shows you the life Yuvraj has lived as a kid and teenager. How he spent his night in his Maruti outside at street of his house or the maturity he had showed by saying “Personal matters should stay at home & never be discussed out” when his parents used to quarrel when he was a kid or the incident when milk was poured over his head by his dad or the rash behavior by senior players he & Harbhajan Singh had to face (during First class cricket),  I mean everything, every single word, every single sentence just runs before your eyes as if you are not reading a book, you are watching a movie & that too a 5D genre movie where you can see, feel & experience at the same time. I could actually feel all these incidences as if I was there when he slept in his car or the pressure senior players used to create with some foul rude language.

I am gonna be a bit mean here and stop now. Why?

Now imagine if this is all I get from chapter 1, what is in there in next chapters. Yeppp!!!!! Even I can’t wait & will get you the next chapter very soon.

So finishing the first part here, I would like to say just one thing, especially if Mr. Singh himself is reading this (I never add personal messages to my articles but this is first time just for the Sixer King)

Earlier If I would have met you I would be praising you for your Sixes (I love them most), your incredible cricketing career and of course your stylish good looks & dressing sense but as for now the only thing that will come to my mind whenever I get to meet you will be – “Now you have given me & rest of the world a solid reason to fight back strongly in every problem or hard times that comes in the course of life since if Yuvraj Can, Anyone Can Do It.”

Fans, Celebrities & Need of Privacy

How much Privacy Need Does Fans Need to Provide to their Favorite Celebs?

Well we all have our favorite celebrities – from cricket field to actors of movies to singers and athletes and much more. We love cheering for them, messaging them on social sites, waiting long just to get their small glimpse, trying hard to get an autograph or a pik, looking here & there for their latest news and everything that a fan can do. I am sure we all have done that and it’s normal too. But have we ever thought that may be our favorite stars also need some privacy or are they getting frustrated sometimes due to the over craziness of their fans?

Ummm… Not all of us have ever thought in this way but let us take an analysis of How much Necessarily does our Stars need their some Little Privacy or How much Space does Fans need to understand to provide to their Favorite Stars?

Unquestionably it’s not easy to be a star but at the same time we all would love to do anything to be one. In words of a layman, a celeb lives the King size life enjoying all the pleasures of the world. We, the normal people do so many things to have their glimpse or a reply at any social networking site. But majority of times they couldn’t reply (Not their Fault, the numbers goes to millions….duuuh!) which leads some of us saying things like “Arrogant”, “Never Reply”, “I will never text again”, “khud ko kya smjhta hai (what does he think of himself”, “Attitude” etc and many more. But some are a level high and instead of complaining they go for some More Actions in order to grab their celeb’s attention by doing some Extra-Ordinary or should I say “Crazy” things. Such fans love to be called Crazy and try their life hard to get noticed with their Crazy tricks.

Now let’s see the other side of the coin – Have we fans ever thought, just say for a moment, about the feelings our favorite Stars have when they see such comments or these Crazy tricks or actions? Nope! We Never did.

To understand closely let us imagine something first –

·         Imagine you having a peaceful and calm dinner and suddenly random people start coming and will continue to come till you finish your food in a hurry & leave. You couldn’t even enjoy your food calmly.

·         Or imagine the crowd across you who does not let you do your shopping due to why you were at the mall.

·         Imagine you can’t go out for a calm walk in the morning

·         Imagine random people writing unlimited things, crazy ones specially, on your Facebook or Twitter wall that you get annoyed with it sometimes.

I think these small imaginations are sufficient. Now let us see what we do on regular basis –

·         We do shout like hell when our people interfere in our lives more than we allow

·         We get extremely mad if someone calls our boyfriend, girlfriend, parents, family or friends or even us with foul names

·         We hate when someone disturbs us especially when we are talking to our friends or closed ones

Now before judging me or calling me Crazy, just imagine one of above for your own life & that too on daily basis and then re-think again before making a reply. Yes, I agree the Stars are Stars because we fans love them but aren’t we fans forgetting the fact that even these celebs have their own life, their friends, family, loved ones and personal hobbies, interests and many more the same way we people have.

So for those who liked the idea, just respect the little personal space that our favorite celebs ask for and for those who are currently hating me here’s one line for you – 

There is a Big Difference between Liking & Loving Mates and we all should Know & Understand that.
